About me

My name is Alex Clarke (she/her). You can find me on K’ómoks territory in the Comox Valley.

For the past decade, I’ve been working at the intersection of institutions and communities. I’ve done copy for tech startups, media relations for green energy companies, digital strategy for political campaigns, and—most significantly—community engagement and communications for K’ómoks First Nation, where I’ve been supporting community and leadership across a range of projects for several years.

My approach draws on IAP2 public participation frameworks, restorative justice, and circle facilitation. I'm trained in Circle Dialogue Facilitation, certified in Restorative Justice, and hold an LL.M. in International Human Rights Law.

When I'm not doing the above, I co-run a small co-working space in an alley downtown Courtenay, and I write fiction. My short fiction has been published in the Berlin Review and the Sunlight Press.

Find out who I do and don’t work with here.
